Walks in the Woods
A computer glitch has delayed me this month but Ron helped with a work-around so here it is – phew!
Painting took a back seat for a while to much-needed walks in the woods and family visits – all great things! Maybe I’m just crazy, but everything seems much greener this year than other Springs. Probably due to the overdose of white for the last 5 months!
Being in nature fuels my creativity in ways that other things just don’t. Typically it’s a quiet, slow process that starts with a walk. I may or may not take pictures. The light, the smell of the air, the colors, the energy of the earth. All of it soaks into my mind and soul and emerges in the form of ideas and images while painting. Good stuff! I highly recommend getting out for walks regularly whether you paint or not. The therapeutic value alone is priceless not to mention the fresh air and exercise!
I’ll be hosted by Montana Bliss Artworks from June 8th through July 6th and the opening reception is during Hamilton’s Culture Crawl next Friday June 8th from 5-8 pm. Hope to see you there!
With the start of “show season” it’s time to focus back on my many paintings in progress. I keep my show schedule updated on my Events page so you can always see what’s next.
I’m so grateful to you all for your support of my art journey.
