Mini Mode
Summer is officially over and I’ve been reflecting on our whirlwind season. I have fall art shows lined up, but there will be a nice lull in September. Time to focus on painting more minis for the season!
As I step back and look at the business side of my art, I realize many of you don’t know what goes into it. Or, more specifically, who. My husband of 32 years has been instrumental not only in getting me started on the path to my art, but also in the behind-the-scenes activities.
Ron is the tireless driver to shows and events so I can sketch, think & plan in the car, constructor and installer of my art display booths, sound board for ideas, marketing and web help, framing assistant, promoter, chef of many meals (not only basic ones, but seriously gourmet!), co- dish washer and house cleaner, photographer and photo editor. Now, his resume includes horse painter and feeder of artist by hand so she can continue painting the horse! Yeah, I’m seriously spoiled.
I’m sure I’ve missed some things, as he is truly “that kind” of guy. The only things he hasn’t done? Paint the paintings and do the bookkeeping. Oh, and clean up my studio! I’ll have to see if he wants that job, too 🙂
