May Showers
Isn’t it lush out there? All the moisture has brought out every little thing that could possibly bloom and the hills are green as green can be! One of my favorite flowers is the Arrowleaf Balsamroot. I have zillions of reference photos of them – their cheery faces and large congregations are irresistible. Naturally, they are the perfect painting subject.
You’d think the way flowers keep starring in my work I’d have flower beds everywhere. Here’s a confession: if it can’t water itself or needs any extra anything, it’s not gonna make it at my house. I’ve managed vegetable gardens with a timer system but that’s been motivated by my love of good food. I’m sure glad flowers bloom wherever the wind blows them! Not a bad policy for life, come to think of it.
Our summer is filled with a mixture of music and art and the fall show schedule is lining up. If you can be in the Lincoln area in August, please save the date for the Lincoln Festival of Arts on the 12th & 13th. We are usually a bit cooler in the summer than other parts of the state, so it’s a wonderful place to be.
I have applied to some exciting projects and I’ll know by next month if they are a “go” – I’ll keep you posted!
