April’s Excitement
What a month! April began with the exciting news that I am invited to show at the Bellevue, WA Festival of the Arts in late July. An estimated 300K people attend the 3 art shows happening together that weekend within a few blocks of each other. This small-town girl is gulping a bit, but SO excited for the adventure!
I also received word that I’ve been awarded the maximum amount by the Montana Art Council for their Strategic Investment Grant. To say I’m humbled by their confidence in me is an understatement. The grant funds will help pay my expenses to travel to either the Denver Downtown Arts Festival in late May (I’m on the wait list for that one) or the Bellevue show, whichever happens first. THANK YOU Montana Art Council!
The last leg of my internship for MAP certification is next Friday, May 5th. I will
again teach the Corks & Canvas painting class from 6:30-9 at the Holter Museum of Art. If you’re interested in the slightest in trying out a paintbrush or just having a fun time, please do come. This is the painting I will be demonstrating for you, but you are free to paint whatever you please.
Back to the easel – I need to take LOTS of art with me to the show!
