The Journey

Playing with ideas for my Journey painting.
A little time to scribble, play and plan brings my latest “must paint” to the surface. Funny how things come to me that way!
This painting is intensely personal and has been very cathartic as I reflect on my life’s journey and relive the dark storms as well as the wonderful gifts. Every moment has given me perspective that I might not otherwise have, so I hope I will be able to lend a helpful hand to others going through the storms of life.
Life has been a journey of twists, turns, complete “backwardness” at times and frustrations. But growing nonetheless. At almost 50 years of age, I feel as though I’ve finally opened into the person I’m meant to be. Why, oh, why did it have to take so long??? All of us are flowers, meant to color the world with our unique fragrance. Some have beautiful, straight and strong stems. But some of us have very crooked, mangled ones. Our story is in the journey and yes, we will bloom – some later than sooner as I can attest!
