Happy New Year!
As I sit here & type this, Ron is out plowing the new foot-plus of snow to make way for the next foot-plus on its way. We were still able to go on our walks in the woods before this last storm, but after this one it’s going to be a while!
January is upon us and I’ve been going back & forth between two delicious
feelings. Extreme gratitude looking back at the tremendous support I’ve received in my art and life journey, and incredible excitement as I look ahead to 2018. Good things are on the way and it will be so fun to share them with you as they unfold!
Some new projects have come along. I was hired to do renderings for a log home company, which really sharpened my perspective skills. Now I’m learning to paint on rawhide in response to a commission I’ve received. It’s quite different than paper or canvas, but I love it. Below is a practice piece and I’m really liking the rawhide look around the flowers.
Many of you have expressed interest in classes – I haven’t forgotten! One of the things I hope to nail down in 2018 is a way to facilitate that. I’m not yet sure if I’ll start out with more skill-based classes or more opening-up-your-creativity type classes. I’ve had almost equal requests for each, so the squeaky wheels will be first. If there is a specific thing/skill/idea you’d like me to cover, please let me know.
I hope you’re all staying warm with loved ones, good music, good wine, and anticipation of a great 2018!
