Why Not? red iris painting by Lisa Gibson

While painting, I consider the natural color of things very loosely. We were hiking in a remote area of Montana on a beautiful day and came across a little meadow in the trees. I was so surprised to learn that such “suburban” flowers (the only place I had ever seen irises) also grew in the wild. Since they seem to be able to grow most anywhere, why not in a red version also?
